Original lids are not widely available, as the only source is from an original stein, presumably one which has been broken and discarded (or at least not judged worthy of repair). If you were to find such a lid, and if was a good match for the body you have (there were color variations from time to time), it could be re-attached to your stein by a professional, and although the repair could still be detected by an expert, the greatest part of the value of the stein would be restored. For an expensive stein such as yours, most collectors would consider this entirely acceptable.
