Girmscheid is still in business by name only. The present owners of the name make some steins and other pottery wares, but do not have any of the original molds, nor do they know any history of the original steins. I believe E&R Golden Crown either has the original molds or rights to the molds. There may be some differences from the originals that were Girmscheid. Value is modest, but not bad compared to many steins produced after WWII. I've seen the Golden Crown steins go for $40 to $60. The older "true Girmscheid" characters may be $120 or more dependent upon condition and age. (There are exceptions to every case, so these numbers are not hard.)
