Unusual Pewter Stein - ca. 1713 - Comments?

I started a thread in the Ebay Antiques Forum and had two people debate the authenticity of this stein to no avail. This is the comment of one of them "I believe this piece was presented to Adolph in the year he inherited his title, as it was the year of his father's death. Believe his father was Ernst, Graf von Steinfurt-Bentheim (1661-1713)" The other thought it might be a later piece since metal lathe was not invented until the early 1800's. Although other forms of lathes were in use and possibly causing this lathe mark. Any comments?
