Small Stein German Lettering

I purchased another small stein, green painted decorative, pewter top, beige background, has the words M or D OOK UND BIEL ilT DAS BELTE SPIEL. Hard to decipher but that is what it appears to say. The bottom is smooth, no markings but the numbers 839.
