Hi Michelle, The three ring hinge can be confusing if you are new to stein collecting and have read some of the reference material. A three ring hing such as this was originally used on steins manufactured between ca.1875 and ca.1895. If the glaze and style said it was late 19th century then that is probably when it was made. However, once the determination was made that the glaze and style is that of the mid-20th century then the pewter is not significant in dating.
