These steins are part of a series of four which were issued in 1985 exclusively for American Express. I believe they are made of porcelain, and the lids are definitely not ivory (although ivory-colored). The original issue was for 10,000 pieces, and original retail price was $150. Value on the resale market is likely to be around $75.
