Sorry, Karen, I have to agree that this stein is quite a bit newer than you had hoped. The painting seems to bright, the shape and size of the pewter foot ring doesn't look right, and the term "Hand Gemalt" (hand painted) would not appear on a stein which is 100 years old. The stein seems to have been made to look like an older stein, and the pewter was artificially aged.
