Hi All,
I wanted to see if anything could be determined about the approximate mfg. date of a steinkrug based upon the type of Gerz mark on the stein.
I know of at least 3 different styles, all of which would date sometime after 1949 I am sure.
I just wondered if the different marks indicate a general period of manufacture in the time frame since 1949, or if the mark mainly depends on the quality of the steinkrug/where made, etc. --
#1) I take this one to be the most recent, it is an bold inkstamped Gerz with with a little triangle centered overtop.

#2) The second style seems to be older, but probably in the last 25-30 years. It is the common type of steinkrug where 0.5L|Gerz is stamped to the upper left of the handle and the bottom is stamped W. Germany. This is the type that is usually screen printed with all kinds of various logos.

#3) The third style is also an ink stamped Gerz symbol but has a triangle shape inside of a circle that says Original on the top of the circle.
