Thanks, Walt. I bought the stein from Karen (at a reasonable & fair price -- around $25). It's definately not 100 yrs old. My guess is it was made in the 50's maybe 60's. The lid had a recent solder mark attaching the "ball" thumblift to the lid...then there's this weird thumblift at the back of the tang. The pewter is strange also -- very rough. Not like machined or polished pewter. Almost looks sand blasted. Still, I liked the design, the price was right that's why I bought it.
