Although the seller admits that a small chip at the base has been "professionally restored", what he fails to mention is that the base itself has been entirely removed. Moreover, the original lid has been replaced with one never intended for that stein.
The piece already has three bids in it's first day on-line. Don't let the final bid be yours. For those who have access, a photo of the stein in its original condition can be found in the Beer Stein Library. - fjl
