Walt,

I don't think Andre meant to imply that Elisabeth Liegl actually produced the stein. Rather she designed the artwork and decorated the stein. She is listed as a Munich decorator in Robert E. Roentgen's Marks on German, Bohemian and Austrian Porcelain: 1710 to the Present. The firm was started in 1948 and if it is still in business, she would be elderly. I did find an address for her if someone is interested in trying to contact her. It is Muenchner Str 22, 81379 Muenchen, Germany. She may have had some connection or association with Kurt Hammer as he used a similar mark with a stylized "K" instead of the slanted "L."
