Although both of these steins are rather unremarkable and of modest value, they have piqued my interest regarding manufacturer, date, etc. Anything you can tell me about them would be greatly appreciated. Both steins are pottery, 0.5L marked (upper left near handle), open hinge 3 ring type, have what appears to be fairly thin spun type pewter lids, and have raised form numbers located on the body at the lower left of the handle. Both steins are definitely pre WW2 (I'm guessing early 1900's). Stein 1. Form # 440. On the base is incised "Germany" and a "4". There also appears to be a makers mark incised which I am unable to identify from research. http://web.tampabay.rr.com/wbaltz/MyWebPage/BeerSteins/Misc/Unk%201/ Stein 2. Form # 42. Nothing on base http://web.tampabay.rr.com/wbaltz/MyWebPage/BeerSteins/Misc/Unk%202/ Thank you for any help that you might be able to provide. William
