Andrea — As you point out in your question, the molds used by Rosskopf & Gerz were acquired in the early 1920s by the firm of Eckhardt & Engler (and later by Würfel & Müller [KING-Werk]). However, for what it's worth, the font used for both the mold number (339) and the control letter (E) on the eBay stein are identical to those used by R&G, leading me to believe that it was most likely produced in the R&G factory.

With regard to your conclusion that the stein "does seem to be the same design" as the one pictured in the Beer Stein Library's R&G catalog, I'd have to disagree. The two steins appear to me to be identical. — fjl
