I am interested in further identifying this stein and perhaps getting a ballpark figure on value and where to sell it competitively.
It is a german lithophane hard past procelain beer stein with pewter lid (c. 1900) (based on internet pictures of similar steins) Height 26 cm.
The pewter lid is engraved with the name Johann Siegl (made for the owner?)
It is a scene of a blacksmith shop with two men shoeing a horse and one man pounding on a mental smith table. German words on stein are BOCH LEBE DAS EDLE - HANDWERK DER SCHMIEDE (made by schmiede?) EBER SOLL DIE WELL VERDERBEN ALS VER DURST EIN SCHMIEDSTERBEN.
Any ideas?
