I bought this regimental stein in '69 in Berlin at a antique shop (don't ask me why, just had to have it)and have lugged it around since. Finally I did some research and have found this great site.

As far as I can tell after browsing in the library it is a standard cavalry stein as it has a horsie and rider on the lid. Well it had. The horsie's foot broke in a move.

How would this affect it's value?

The owner's name is Rtr. Gaishauser The mug was obviously used frequently as the names of the regiment on the left side of the handle are partially gone. But on the other side of the handle I can read some:

Zwiester, Weishaupt, Schnabel, Sachsinger, Rathoeber, Panzinger, Nussberger, Maderer, Faust,

I wonder if any of you may have a stein from this regiment.

Also, I couldn't find any history on this regiment just info about Prinz Carl v. Bayern. Are there any history buffs?

Sincerely, Wanda
