Some time ago I posted a question about the common fox handled hunting scene steins with the slogan roughly "the green heath is the hunter's joy". No one answered. Now I have some more information that might make it seem a more interesting question. In the March 1993 Prosit, the late Les Hopper (of our own Bayou Steinverein) devoted a page and some illustrations of one of these steins from the turn of the century. He was interested in the artist's initials and said nothing about the decoration. It seems the stein was from the Matthias Girmscheid factory, and the initials were GK. (cont)
