I saw an illustration of that stein in an old Prosit the other day, along with some others of Teddy Roosevelt. It was inspired by a very famous, large safari in which Teddy collected specimens which went to the Museum of Natural History in New York. I think it was 1912. After the safari he toured Europe, including Germany. The Germans received him less well than the rest of Europe, where he was a hero and superstar. But they made a number of imaginative steins. They don't really hunt on elephants in Africa. Back then it was still "Darkest Africa" and little known. I don't know about rarity or value of the steins.
