I can't tell from your question whether you are talking about old German steins (they made Americana and Eagles too) or modern steins (more likely though). They attract different collectors who care about different things. However: Everyone cares about which pottery factory made the stein., ie. Gerz, Thewalt, King, Ceramarte, whatever. Everyone cares about which country it was made in, Germany, West Germany, Brazil, Japan, China. Everyone cares about the size of the stein 1 liter, .5 liter, etc. If it is signed or initialed by the artist buyers like knowing that. You should find out if it is an old stein (pre WWI) or a modern stein (post WWII). Old stein collectors want to know about the type pottery and style of decoration. New stein collectors sometimes want original boxes and certificates (which seems weird to the old stein collectors). If your steins have a special subject, such as a brewery or festival etc definitely mention that.
