Rich, Most of my steins are still packed away, so I may have spoke to quickly and harshly. The painting seemed to be somewhat bland to me, but that may have been due to a poor picture. Hopefully it will look better when you get it in your hands. You are correct that it is common to be missing the balls at the end of the umbrella. Considering the damage to the hat and pewter, I don't think you did too bad on the price. I think the damage and painting may have kept some bidders away, but the deep recession is starting to take its toll on the stein market too. Ron
