Thanks for your response. There is an engraving of a date and it was hardto make out. It looked like 1818 but it could be 1878, which I gather fits in with your information. Is this type of stein of interest to collectors? Its my fathers who is now elderly but he has been wanting information on this stein for over 40 years. So thank you for your help. Any more information would be most welcome.
