The 80th Infantry Regiment is an Electoral Hessen regiment and regimental steins named to Hessen regiments typically have rampant lion thumblifts, same as Bavarian regimental steins. It does appear the lid is an old replacement - since it's not a good fit on the stein's body and it shows extensive pewter repair around the strap.
