Maybe this is the clue I've been looking for! I have reinspected my collection with particular attention to the handles. All of the .5 liter "plain musterschutz" and "American Bravo" have the same handle, and the .25's have a simpler but similar one. All the Thewalt steins have their twisted vine handle, even when the rest of the stein is exactly the same (I have one .25 like that). Looking through my entire collection, I only see one stein with a similar (but less clear) handle, it does not have a manufacturer's mark. Now I need some Eckhardt & Engler steins to see if this is typical of them. From the few photo's I see online it looks as if it may be.
