Chris, It seems that E&E continued to use the two Es over an H mark into the modern era, but they also marked them Western Germany. See http://www.rubylane.com/shops/nowantiquesandcollectibles/item/Nowx201002 Gary Kirsner's The Beer Stein Book says they closed c 1971. The Character Stein site says they sold their molds to Werner Corzelius in the 1950s. Without the Western Germany mark, it is difficult to distinguish a 1930s stein from a 1950s stein since they mostly used the same molds. Ron
