I am in posession of a very old German Stien carved from a tree trunk, w/ top....am trying to get a true age. It has a carving on the front of a monk holding a big pitcher in one hand and his fingers on the other giving the ok symbol...the words Monshoff Kulumbacher carfed around the monk...this came home with my father after the war and the date has a 1942 Calender with discription of the begining of the Monshoff brewery... there are dates going back as far as 1430's to 1740's of which could be whithin the dates appears look... here is one of the pictures...its in real good shape if its as old as may be...Image here: http://www.steincollectors.org/_disc2/cholmes.jpg
