I wanted to follow up on the Teddy Roosevelt stein that I had inqirred about in mid-January. I went back to that antique mall to get the stein if it was still there and it was not. I recently aquirred item # 120393443067 much to my suprise. I would say this is my "stein find" of my collecting so far. I would guess that it did not sell for very much because the seller did not include any reference to Teddy Roosevelt and probably did not know who that was riding the elephant just as I did not know when I originally saw that stein in the antique store. This one does have a small crack on the uderside of the lid and factory blemish on the lion head on the handle, but I don't think the latter devalues it much. Did you ever come across more info regarding value? I would be curious about this--per before, this stein in general not worth the $1599 the guy in january was asking, but probably greater than $1000.00??? Also, you referenced a thread from Fred back in 2004, but from what I could tell, he was relatively new to collecting at that time and the value he gave of the small one seemed low compared to what the one at auction sold for that you mentioned. Thx, Ken
