Ken, The larger ones were generally designed as master steins, or pitchers. The stein in question weighs about 10 pounds with a lid and adding beer would be another 10 pounds. I think you would want to use to hands to pour the beer into a more manageable container. Mettlach also made an 8-1/2 liter stein. Imagine what that would weigh. Ron Ron
