Frederica, Some sellers refuse to ship out of the U.S. because of the increased postal complexities, and the difficulty in collecting the insurance on lost packages. It is the seller's option to set the conditions for the sale. There are scams where someone uses stolen ebay or paypal ids to buy articles and have them shipped to a new address. I think the seller is being overly cautious, but that is his prerogative. I have passed on several nice steins from Germany because the seller would only accept wire transfers for payment which would cost me more than the shipping which was already exorbitant. Be patient, sooner or later another nice stein will come up.
