Marzi & Remy together with other manufacturers made blank steins for sale to Pewterers / Decorators and Vendors and were very happy to put the the middle man's mark on them, Hence you see B&C and many others having an impressed mark on a stein body. N.B. My thoughts on B&C being connected to Bauernfreund are only speculation at present.
