Frederica, Martin Pauson was primarily a pewter and finishing shop that existed from 1884 to the 1930s per an Andre Ammelounx article in the 09/92 Prosit. The Beer Stein Library believes the Frauenkirche Tower stein was made by Schierholz, although it does not appear in their catalog and none contain the Schierholz mark. Frank lists it in that catalog based on its physical characteristics. Frank estimates the value in mint condition to be $600 to $750 for the 1,0 L size and $500 to $600 for the 0,5 L size. At one time he listed the Men Under Umbrella stein as Schierholz, although none are marked Schierholz and do not appear in any known catalogs. When I asked why he removed it, Frank said it was because Schierholz was not known to have pewter lids. My stein is packed away, but does anyone out there have a Men Under Umbrella stein with the pewter lid marked Pauson? Ron
