Hi Frederica, Gaigel is different to Skat. It is played by 2-6 people who get five cards each. Before the start of the game, one card of the remaining deck is turned and put next to the deck. The color of this card is trump and the player who holds the seven of trumps begins. Now the aim is to get 101 points first by both taking tricks (and counting together the values) and by announcing certain combinations of cards on one's hand that give extra points. For instance, a king and an "ober" (the equivalent of a queen in a Gaigel deck) of the same color give 20 points or 40 points if they're trumps. Each card can only be used once for an announcement. After each round, the players draw a new card from the deck. The game ends when all cards are played.
