To all that need help on translations, There have been a rash of new threads seeking help on translations. They normally just list the phrase. In many cases, the phrase is reversed and/or contains misspellings. Old German phrases contain letters that are difficult to recognize correctly. Thus, a photo is worth quite a bit more in helping a person to provide a translation. There are German translation services available on the Internet. You can also try searching the phrase with one of the search sites. The Beer Stein Library has a search function if you are a member of the site. You can also search by stein number if they have a catalog. SCI members also can access a listing of German phrases on the Library section. As a courtesy, you should also mention why you are seeking the translation(if it is on a stein, the maker and form number can be quite helpful), how it will be used (if you are using it in a listing on e-Bay say so and do give credit for your source) and don't forget to acknowledge the replies and thank them for the help.
