Hi Rich, no, it's Bavarian dialect. Plattdeutsch is spoken in some regions in Northern Germany only. It's closer related to English than German is - for instance, to make is "maken" in Plattdeutsch and "machen" in German. So far, I haven't come across a stein with a Plattdeutsch saying on it - I wonder why. Best Marc
