Hello Frederica, Merkelbach & Wick were operating between circa 1879 and 1921. Your stein is a reproduction of a so called Siegburger Schnelle from the 16th century and I am pretty sure it was produced by Merkelbach & Wick as a decorative piece, not as a drinking vessel. I feel it was produced around 1920 or so (don't ask me why, just a guess based on what I've seen over the years). Prosit! Paul
