A while back I asked if there were old musical steins as well as modern ones, and answers plus my own poking around soon showed that there were classic period steins with music boxes. But I've been reading through old Prosits and in the March 1992 edition John McGregor discusses DRGM 94507 which appears to have been the invention of the raised bottom in 1898 by M Girmscheid. Does this imply that there were also no musical steins before 1898? Does anyone know of any?
