I took the advice and contacted Mr. Thewalt. He informed me that 182 was the model nr. and 9003 is the article no. The Stein called Maedchenkopf was first produced around 1900 by modeller Wilhelm Kamp. It was taken out of production due to lack of interest and another run was started in the 1950/60's. The "Muster" stein was a sample for the painters to follow. This production was stopped due to desinterest as well and hence the " Muster" stein was sold. My read of this info is that the Stein didn;t make it into a production run and this would make mine a one of a kind( at least as far as the new version goes) Does that affect the value and how can I find out IF there are any later versions out there? Thanks Frederica
