Chris,here is the info on your 2 marks from Herr Thewalt;I found the index card from my great-great-grandfathers brother Johann JAKOB Thewalt, at Hoehr 06.10.1823 & at Hoehr 03.13.1904.He was the founder of the J.(Jakob)Thewalt tube factory.When exactly is unknown,but approx. in the early 40th of the 19th century because his 1st award-a golden medal he received in 1846.Exactly when the factory closed down is unknown,but after his death in 1904 and before WW11.In 1907 the factory was still existing because the company was listed in a local book named Leader through Hoehr.Best regards Albert J.
