Bill, thanks again for digging up all the very helpful information. To me, this information confirms that the value of even relatively scarce steins began decreasing even before the bottom fell out of the economy. My guess is that most stein collectors are either retired, or nearing retirement, and that the combination of a decrease in cash flow, tanked IRA's and a lacvk of younger individuals taking up the hobby are resulting in price defalation. I've been offered a mint condition Mettlach 1.0 liter 2717 target Venus stein and I'm trying to decide what is current fair value in today's environment and what would be a reasonable offer. My guess is that the value of the stein is not much above $3000 currently. Would you agree? Thanks again!
