Harry, The mark is that of Albert Jacoob Thewalt. West Germany, of course, means it was made in the 1949-90 time period. The firm has a web site and they may be able to tell you more if you submit a photo. The scene may depict a painting by Franz von DeFregger, but my books are currently packed away so I can't look it up now. Have you joined SCI? Chris is a member in GB. Ron
