I have two Steins that I had an army buddy buy for me in the mid 1970s, when he was stationed in Germany.I traded him some tapestries I brought home from Singapore, when I was in the Navy. Stein #1 is 16 1/4" tall from base to lip. The cover is about 3" high. In the base are markings in the stein material itself '3L'and a triangle 'MADE IN GERMANY GERZ'Under the GERZ is 'S--T 1-62'.(Very hard to read could be SEAT 1862, but can't really make this out). There is a gold stamped '31' With letters curved around the top of it I can't read. Then another stamped triangle with GERZ W.GERMANY and the number 7 below it. Next to the handle on one side is a Queen with a crown, next to the handle on the other side is man in armor, with puffy colorful sleeves, colorful hat with feathers and a spear in right hand. In the middle is a man kissing a woman on the cheek with a naked child on the left holding on to her dress. Below the picture it says:Smmerwirb-Jns(some symbol)liirk istmiirb. I've never really looked at these steins closly before, but they are quite pretty and involved. I'm curious as to their value, and any history that may go with them. Thank you for any help that you can give . Tony
