I have two Steins that I had an army buddy buy for me in the mid 1970s, when he was stationed in Germany.I traded him some tapestries I brought home from Singapore, when I was in the Navy. Stein # 2 is 18 1/2" from base to lip, and cover is approx. 3" tall. On the bottom in the stein material itself is stamped '4L' and the triangle with MADE IN GERMANY GERZ and below the GERZ it is hard to make out 'sit- 1062 (very hard to read). Then stamped in gold is the number 8 and curved around the top of the number 8 are the letters -on---m-ll (something like that, very hard to read). Then there is a gold foil glued to bottom that says GERZ W.GERMANY.The picture is (from left to right) A man standing with his arm around a woman, then two women in the backround closr together, then a man sitting in a chair with a woman standing and holding him, then a man and woman sitting at a table with a man standing behind them with his right arm on the womans shoulder. Around the top of the stein it says: Bei Tanz und Scherz bleibt froh das Herz. Behind the handle is a house. I have a photo I can e-mail if that will help. I've never really looked at these steins closly before, but they are quite pretty and involved. I'm curious as to their value, and any history that may go with them. Thank you for any help that you can give . Tony
