Hi Rich, I agree that Mr. Harr's services are better reserved for a stein more deserving than mine and I'm not surprised to learn that my stein isn't worth more than what I paid for it. If it's in fact worth less, thanks for withholding that information :-) What about the idea I suggested in my second post? Could I not fashion a pewter shim that would fit inside the original strap? If I could locate a little strip of pewter and trim and hammer it to the right size and thickness couldn't I conceivably wiggle it in between the handle and original strap and then perhaps add a few drops of crazy glue to keep everything in place? Assuming that's not a completely ridiculous idea, the question is once again, where do I find a little strip of pewter?
