Hi, I'm in Tia's pottery group and a friend said I should ask this group about my Stein. It was bought in an Antique Shop in Austria and I bought it in a yardsale, I've been picking up interesting Steins for my son for Christmas. He's in the Army and took some leave in Germany and really liked the Country. This is a pottery stein whith a pewter lid, I have 2 but the handle needs repaired on the other one. It has, Western Germany signed by hand under the glaze as are the #5 and a makers mark. I did check your place where you have handles, snd I think it might have been made in the 1940's. I'd appriciate any help you can give me with this. thank you sue http://s187.photobucket.com/albums/x161/babyhoney33/?action=view&current=WesternGermany.gif http://s187.photobucket.com/albums/x161/babyhoney33/?action=view&current=BSotherside.jpg http://s187.photobucket.com/albums/x161/babyhoney33/?action=view&current=BeerSteinwcoin.jpg http://s187.photobucket.com/albums/x161/babyhoney33/?action=view&current=Beersteinfront.jpg I hope you can see them alright, if not, please email me at, poppies@cogeco.ca
