I recently purchased a regimental stein with an unusual side scene. I have seen this side scene on telegraph regimental steins, but not on infantry. It is a scene of 3 soldiers, one with red signal paddles on each arm, one with binoculars, and one with a notepad writing down the signal/message (there are 3 others soldiers on the far hill doing the same thing). Regiment info is 'Kgl. 16. Inftr. Rgt., Grossh. Ferd. v. Tuskana 12. Comp. 1902-04. Passau'. 'Gefftr. Herman Poscht'. There is also an unusual dedication around the lower band 'We Weiss ob wir uns Wiedersehn, am blauen Donaustrand.'. I googled this and I don't think it translated quite right 'Who white whether we re+long yourself, at the blue Danube beach'. My question is, has anyone seen an infantry regimental with a side scene like this, and any ideas of the unusual caption on the lower band? I figure he must have been involved with company communications somehow. I've attached a photo below. Thanks, John http://members.aol.com/brownsjohn/regtside2.jpg
