I have been a member of SCI for 23 years and am a Master Steinologist. When I joined SCI just about all I heard was Mettlach, faience and Westerwald stoneware. Believe me there is a lot more to stein collecting than the big three. What does a new stein cost, $150 to $250? You can buy most steins manufactured between 1860 and 1914 for less than that and those are old steins.
