Thanks for the info Stewart. The Stein I have is similar to the one pictured except much larger. The silver plated metal has turned black as it has not been cleaned (I thought it was just antiqued metal not silver plate)and the wood is in excellent condition. If anybody has a copy of the June 1998 Prosit Magazine I would greatly appreciate a copy of the article written by Walt Vogades on The St. Louis Silver Company as it would probably answer all my questions about this rare stein.
