Hello Carlos, This is a 'relief' type of stein (raised figures/design). This stein most likely had a pewter lid when it was originall made by Gerz many years ago. This stein was most likely produced between 1900-1945. These types of steins have minimal value without the lid (actually anything without a lid is called a mug). I hope this helps. John
