I purchased a Mathaeserbraeu stein (ebay number 220160484818), on 10/21/07. It is dated "1913", on the front of the stein and features crossed American and German flags. I have a question about the American flag. If the stein was made in 1913, why does the flag have 50 stars? The pewter lid has the inscription "MATHAESERBRAEU-MUNCHEN", with a Muenchen lion.
