Your right, that is one heck of a price! There must be some antique Oktoberfest stein collectors that got into a bidding war over there. It's also a very unique, and neat decoration on the stein (a woman, maybe Germainia and a lion drinking from a stein like a dog - humorous as well!). It's probably a rare stein, but I'd say someone overpaid quite a bit for it! John
