That's a heck of a lot of money for a stein. But it wasn't just those two bidders, a few others dropped out at around 1500 Euros. And, they all were serious collectors with ebay ratings in the several hundreds and up. It seems there are some really wealthy collectors out there, and it shows that they will use ebay if the stein is right.
