Attached are pictures of the stein I have. It stands 11" (280mm) tall closed, 7.5" (190mm) to lip. There appears to be a regimental aspect to the decoration, all figures wearing the same colour uniform. The solitary lancer has the legend over 'Sieg oder Tod" (Victory or death) The lid is inscribed 'Der treu gedient hat seine zeit dem sei dieser krug geweiht" - I've not translated There is quite a lot of script, in old German style, hard to read, but the name Franz Ferdinand is evident just below the rim There is a glass ball? dome? set into the lid which appears to contain small loose military figures - hard to see for a reddish powdery residue within the glass. The inner base of the piece displays a head and shoulders figure of a military gentleman in relief - possibly Franz Ferdinand? http://members.aol.com/jpi1941/steintop.jpg http://members.aol.com/jpi1941/steinpic1.jpg http://members.aol.com/jpi1941/steinpic2.jpg
